I might give it a try if there's something worth trying.

I think the change from Orca to Supersclicer may be a bit much.

Ahh shucks - you twisted my arm, it nearly dislocated so I'll give it a go 🤣

The Github still shows the old version. Will search for 2.7 when I have some time and my arm is back in its socket 😀

Just had a look at the video and I think from what I have heard that Orca slicer is still way ahead of super slicer. Also seem there is still a lot of work in the pipeline to get where I think Orcaslicer is currently (Multi plates for example)

I use to use Superslicer (moved from simplify 3d due to cost) until development ceased. I found super slicer great with loads of features.

Switched to Orcaslicer when super slicer stagnated development wise, and loved the UI of Orcaslicer. Have been using it solely and am very satisfied with it. (Especially love the multiplate slicing) It is actively being developed and improved.

Never used Prusaslicer so cannot comment on that

I've never tried it, I've downloaded it but never used it in anger.

I moved from Simplify 3D (money grabbing barstools) to Orca.

I find Orca overly complicated, but agian I suppose it needs to be.

What I do like, and what is missing from other slicers, is the direct interface to the printer(s). I cannot see me moving away from Orca - it did win software of year by the 3D printing industry.

I started out using Repetier for my Solidoodle2 then moved to Simplify 3D with Octoprint on a Pi for a long time on my Tevo Tornado. When I built my Voron 2.4 I switched over to SuperSlicer and currently I'm using Orca Slicer exclusively.

@NikosSprocket I would 100% give Orca slicer a try. Yes... the user interface will take some getting used to but... and I can confirm... it's a really nice UI once you get the lay of the land and know where certain settings are. The best feature of Orca is the there's a tab that take you to your printers Mainsail or Fuidd interface right in the slicer. No need to have a separate browser window for your printer anymore.

I went from PrusaSlicer to SuperSlicer, and eventually to Orca. The transition to Orca was a bit long & painful since it changes the UI a lot and terminology. Once moved though, I have come to like it a lot more. I also do not see returning to PS or SS.

The multi plate function is great, especially for larger more complex projects.

That's pretty much my history with SuperSlicer as well.

This is an ungrateful thing to say about an open-source project that talented people have put so much fine work into, but at this point I'm a bit gun-shy about SuperSlicer staying current even with developments in PrusaSlicer. I really liked it while I was using it, but at some point you just have to cut your losses and move on.

I do wish SuperSlicer the best, but it's not clear to me that there's a good reason to have more than one community-run project downstream of PrusaSlicer/BambuStudio.
