How do you get the USB serial ID when the Octopus has been flashed with the USB can bridge?

When using ls /dev/serial/by-id only the Klipper Expander board shows up.

But when you look up devices under USB it sees the Octopus board.

  • PFarm changed the title to Octopus V1.1 getting the USB Serial ID

You won't get a USB serial but a UUID as it has been flashed with CAN, so no longer a serial device but a canbus device.

~/klippy-env/bin/python ~/klipper/scripts/canbus_query.py can0

@mvdveer thanks for clarifying my error in the above post. I've been trying to flash the Mellow SB 2040 V3 with Klipper for the last two days. The toolhead is in Katapult mode (led is flashing) but I cannot get the UIID for Katapult. I've check that I see 60 ohms at the RJ connector unplug it at the RJ connector and get 120 ohm from the toolhead. Double checked that Katapult is compiled correctly what am I missing?

Is the board in Klipper Can Mode?

The Octopus or the SB2040? Klipper Can Mode = Klipper has the UIID for the Octopus. I tried stopping Klipper service.
