@mvdveer Are you using a Blobifier with a Beacon probe if so what are you using to wipe the nozzle (not a brush😬)?

@PFarm - yes using a nozzle wiper, but one from Bambu Labs. I have this on my VZBot and now the V2.4 300mm build. All the other printers were swapped to silicone brushes.

Here is my setup:

IMG_0997.thumb.jpeg.7ad842a27aa02d9c3fac569e7a258c96.jpeg

I printed the parts from the Blobifier Repo plus a Blobifier Dropin adapter that I found for the Bambu labs brush, when assembling the blobifier . These are really cheap from Bambu labs themself. ($5 AUD for 3 brushes) Similar price for Canadian. $3.99 CAD (Bambu labs Nozzle Wiper)

Will upgraded the silicone brushes on the other printers over time, now that I have found the dropin adapter. Will be an easy replacement.

How have you mounted that on the VzBot?

I used this. Had to make a spacer to sit it level with the printbed.

Also made a bucket that press fits on the bottom. (Not as elegant as @Penatr8tor would have done, but it works)

Here are the spacer files as well as the fusion file.

Also use the "Blobifier dropin" mentioned earlier in this thread to mount the Bambulabs scrubber.

Hi Mvdveer,

How have you found the Galileo 2 mod with the cutter? Looking at the BoxTurtle site they are pushing the CW2 as a preferred option with the filamatrex cutter as a more successful option (reliability?).

I have printed the CW2 files for a SB / CW2 conversion but have a Galileo 2 in a box so on the fence as to go with that extruder on the rebuild.

Looking at how the new files are organised it looks like they have improved the interface between the extruder and hot end by using m3 inserts rather then the m3 bolt on the CW2 version - looks very well done.

Cheers

Brian

Sorry to butt in on this but I have the mod and it is working pretty well.  I am not utilizing the switch’s at this time because I’m using PicoMMU

https://github.com/IRTrail/G2E-Filametrix

EDIT: Sorry, I thought lawson.brian was looking for the G2E-filametrix model.

Has been good so far. I printed the mod (got it of printables) with the dual toolhead sensors but only using the pre-extruder gear sensor. I also printed the beefy lever. I like the Galileo2 but there is nothing wrong with the CW2.

Still have that version on one of the printers but is on my todo list to change. Comparing the cut function of both - could not say one is better than the other.

Happy you butted in. Just had a look at your GitHub and wish I came across this earlier. Thanks for sharing. @lawson.brian, I would utilise this if you are going the Galileo 2 route.

I think the G2E version under the FilamAtrex fork is actually the same model as under the G2E-Filametrix.

They have modified the CW2 version though.

Thanks for the responses. I have built up the CW2 version as already printed the parts. Just waiting on the #4 blades which are like hens-teeth in the UK.

I will build up the G2E to drop in at a later date as I already have the kit for that.

Started my BoxTurtle parts scavenging so still have some time.

Mine is not as per the BOM as I designed this prior to the BOM being released. Here is the official BOM. The last line of the BOM will drive the cost up exponentially - Polyfilament Dryers x 3

I was just reading your build could u use this is for a 6 bay diy fillament dryer in stead

I just found this on AliExpress:

I'm sure the turtle box enclosure could be modded to have this kit installed!

Wondering about your Z cable chain.  Is that mounted so it’s under your gantry?  Do you have a cad for it if so?  Mine has almost been ripped off by my umbilical cable mount when G28 is used while the tool head is at the purge spot.   I have been thinking about it but haven’t had time to look into it.

Yes it is  - best thing I did for the canbus setup. Done this on both Vorons and the Micron. Got back some Y-distance. I just got this of Printables, the CAD is in there. (Here is the original of the same)

And it is a 15min conversion at best.

Nice thanks.  I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of that yet.  Been pissin me off for a while!  I need to run a wire for my enclosure lights anyway so I know what I’m doing next.

Mind if I ask how high your bed sits off the bottom?  I used the 4m knurled nuts to stand the aluminum bed plate off the frame but that makes my Y gantry lower bracket hit the shaker arm bracket.  It seems to be about 3-4 mm too tall.

My bed sits 40mm above the bottom panel. I had to adjust the back corner of the blobifier bucket for the blobifier as the rear right motor collided with the bucket.

i guess my plate and 300mm Voron is not typical because this didn't work out for me.  I have a bed of 35mm so my y rail attachment hits the shaker arm.  I thought to make it 5mm shorter but now it doesn't fit over the tray and servo arm for line up.  hmmmm  I guess i need to raise my bed by a few mm then.
