DIY Desktop CNC / cutter

Now that my 2.4 is up and running, if not cosmetically finished, it has utterly obsoleted my modified Ender 5 in a way I hadn't quite expected.  My original plan had been to use the Voron to print the ABS parts to bring it up to a Mercury 1 Hydra build, but now I am thinking I might try something else.

When I'm not doing 3D printing I DM a couple of D&D campaigns.  And I have just discovered Printable Heroes who make excellent print and cut out tokens.  I use my SLA printer for players and 'star' NPCs, but for line monsters I've found print and fold a much more time efficient way of getting tokens on the table.  This does, however, leave me with a need to precisely cut out lots of fiddly shapes from an A4 printed sheet, so I got to thinking if I could re-purpose the Ender parts into a cutter.

I don't really need the ability to CNC wood or metal, just move a cutting head over a fixed A4 sheet to cut out a pre-planned cut path.  Can anyone recommend a DIY CNC design that could be adapted to this end?
