So that's that then, it's been an interesting build.

The documentation has driven me mad (I used to write Tech Docs as part of a previous job).

Without the support of this forum I would have been up the creek sans paddle, huge thanks go to @Penatr8tor & @mvdveer. Cheers guys, there's one in the barrel for you.

There are still some things to do:

Fit the gas struts to the lid,

Fit the Beacon H (when it arrives).

Now it's time to start printing with it and gaining confidence with it. This is my main printer now as the CB1 in my v2.4 shat itself this morning.

I'm not too impressed with the hotend, I get better results with the Rapido 2 UHF in my v2.4, but I'll live with the 65 mm3/s.

Gad I am not the only one - though I have slowed down the prints (220mm/s) and results are more than acceptable.

@Penatr8tor I do like that Prime Blob.

Thanks... I stole it from RatRig 🤣

The extrusion rate could be a bit faster and it should move along the Y (fan blows the little bridge it makes) but it gets the flow, flowing.

@TitusADuxass What nozzle are you running. I had a heck of a time getting good prints with a 0.6mm nozzle so I went to a 0.4mm Diamondback and it prints beautifully. The .4mm definitely eliminated the oozing issue I had.

I also bought myself the new Vz-Hextrudort-Low Plus extruder Mellow is selling.

If for no other reason than this...

The constant popping out of my bowden tube and kink where it enters the old extruder was annoying and I really thought I was over it until I saw this sukka. Now I'm 60 bucks poorer and have another hour or so job in a week when it gets here. 🤪

I'm using a cheap knock off CHT 0.4mm from Aliexpress. Very little oozing.

It looks like I'm also going to be 60 bucks poorer, it needs that bowden clamp.

Beacon Rev H

First print (my usual 1st layer patch).

I just followed the Quick Start on Beacon's webpage, and ran my first print.

Amazing!!

No adjustment, no baby stepping just print.

Here's the underside of the patch.

The other thing of note, the cable supplied with the Beacon is of a much higher quality than that of the Cartographer.

A big thanks for the recommendation.
