Hey was looking at some vendors on allyexpress and yes I know they say on the build the the quality of the meanwell psu cannot be verified but has any one brought one from MEAN WELL CHINA as the reviews look good but I am not sure as the local vendors are a bit pricey

Nope. got all my power supplies locally (Australia) . Use makerstore, wavecom or mouser.  Digikey is cheaper but although they say .au, it mostly ships from the USA and the postage kills! You can always try Meanwell Australia as well, though I found them to be more expensive than the distributors.

May be a bit more expensive than Aliexpress but I am assured of quality - no guessing there.

Well... To be fair..

All the kits that were talked about here, are from China. I do not know any kits that are put together by Australian or European or American companies.

All kits contain the Meanwell PSU you mention. And I doubt they are different than the ones sold on AliExpress.

I do not think it is bad to check if you are buying good and recommended stuff, I think it is good to realize we are here al together thanks to the Chinese companies that make the kits and produce the parts for us.

I agree my point was are they mean well or are they mean well copy's just like a lot of the so called hywin linear rails kicking around I do know some vendors are above board and sell what they say they do and others .... and last thi g I want to do is spend x dollars on stuff to get it fried because of a sub standard psu so I thought I would ask just in case some one has used them and can vouch for the reviews as I would have no idea if they are the real ones or not

I agree. From experience I bought "genuine Omron Relays" from Ali Express only to turn out they were fakes, branded as Omron. Found that out the hard way.

That does not prevent sellers to manufacture look alike products, and there is no way of being sure either prior to purchase.

True. They are even able to produce exactly the same of a product. Which sometimes make them a very good alternative:-)

I bought for example a Revo voron clone. For 33€s. It has all features of the original. Including the accuracy and speed. It can even use original revo voron nozzles.

Another thing that has changed on AliExpress is that the dispute system works a lot different than a couple of years ago. If you find a product is fake and can prove it to them with a video, by means of images, you can return the item or get a refund without having to return it. Not as cool as Amazon returns, bit not bad also.

That is interesting I like that idea

So just got my cnc tap kit my friend has printed the beefy rollers and the surround for the larger 5inch screen and the stuff for the filter mods above also the nozzel cleaner mod and some other bits I am about to resume building soon just waiting on the 5mm rod for the beefy rollers I also am going for the galileo2 as well so they all should keep me out of trouble

I hear people talking about chamber temps what are everyone using for temp probes and are they interfacing it with clipper or is it just a stick on temp probe with a digital display

Thankyou for all the help so far

This is literally all you need...

image.thumb.png.ba288d16e748b7a829dcfeaef425904d.png

Just find a place inside your "chamber" and run it to your controller. Then set up your printer.cfg with

[temperature_sensor chamber]
sensor_type: Generic 3950
sensor_pin: <your pin>
min_temp: 0
max_temp: 100
gcode_id: C

Disclaimer: This code is a sample and is untested. I got it from the Voron Docs

Hopefully the link works what is everyone's thoughts on the pi2 from btt in stead of the raspberry pi 4 4gb or the 5 4gb are the btt pi up to it or a pain

My personal preference is a Pi 3B or better. @mvdveer and myself have both gotten Pi 5's with NVME SSD drives running Klipper and I'm going to use that in my 2.4 refurbish / upgrade. My justification for the extra expense is that an SSD won't go bad like micro SD cards do over time. Well, I will correct myself and say that all nonvolatile memory will wear out over time and SD cards are more prone to failure. Plus, the SSD's are orders of magnitude faster. I would say my minimum would be a Pi 4B with 4gb memory and a good quality name brand SD card.

Check out my 2.4 refurb thread.

I just redesigned the rear filter box to fit a standard vacuum cleaner HEPA filter with active carbon sheet filter. If you'd like to use it instead of the Voron one let me know and I'll post the Fusion 360 and STL files.

Fair enough thought I would ask the pi 2 I was talking about was a btt one not a normal pi but I am thinking I will go tje 5 4gb as only 15 dollars between the 4 4gb and the 5 4gb

Yes, you need the hat to run the NVME SSD. I specifically reference "NVME" because the old SATA M.2 drives will not work.

The hat will also work if you have the Pi5 official active cooler installed (which I do) and what's nice is that the fan on the 5 has a special connector and doesn't use the PIO power pins. You also get a PIO pin riser with the hat as well.

I have this one -> Waveshare NVME Hat $16 US

And I'm using this for my SSD -> Samsung 256gb NVME SSD $25 US

And the Pi5 cooler -> Active Cooler $13 US

I also went ahead and bought an NVME to USB Adapter $11 US to flash the Pi OS onto the drive from my PC.

All told the total additional isn't really that much (~$65 US) considering the benefits over the old Pi.

The Bowden connector’s are not threaded, they are pressure fittedLike these(ECAS), on Aliexpress.

The Galileo 2 uses the same connector. If you need them urgently, I am happy to give you some (I have about a 100) , depending where in Australia you are, we can arrange for a pickup if you’re in Melbourne. (Just DM me)
